Bastogne, December 13, 2014.
Meet and greet at the Bastogne Barracks

Russell "Buck" Morgan was drafted at 18 and completed basic training on June 6, 1944, which was D-Day, the invasion of Normandy. His thought that day was "when will I be over there?" A short three months later he was fighting with the well-respected 335th Infantry Regiment, 84th Division "Railsplitters" in Belgium, Holland and Germany. Russell Morgan saw heavy combat in the Battle of the Bulge. He earned two Bronze Stars; one of which was for actions on 23 February, 1945 when "PFC Morgan, with complete disregard for personal safety, despite intense enemy fire, met numerically superior enemy forces several times, inflicted heavy casualties, captured 39 prisoners and returned to his unit with valuable information." Russell resides in Corriganville, Maryland.
